The KI-Transfer Plus program, funded by the Bavarian State Ministry for Digital Affairs, supports SMEs in the introduction of AI. Through targeted knowledge building and the development of a holistic AI strategy, companies are enabled to implement their own AI use case within 9 months. This gives them the opportunity to get to know existing AI tools and adapt them for their own company or to train an AI system themselves. KI-Transfer Plus qualifies companies with little experience in the field of AI to become AI users.
A particular focus of the program is the local support of participating companies by AI regional centers, which are located at universities throughout Bavaria. KI-Transfer Plus was developed by appliedAI Initiative GmbH, which also coordinates the program and acts as the AI regional center for the Munich area.
Since the start of the program in 2021, 15 companies have already been successfully supported in the introduction of AI. The spectrum of AI applications implemented as part of the program ranges from product improvements using computer vision (Horsch Maschinen GmbH) and predictive maintenance solutions (Cordenka GmbH & Co. KG) to question-and-answer chatbots to access internal company databases (Suffel Fördertechnik GmbH & Co. KG). An overview of the use cases and further information on the program can be found at www.ki-transfer-plus.de.
