Application start at the THI for the winter semester 2020/21

The application period for the start of studies in winter semester 2020/21 at Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI) begins on Saturday, May 2. Prospective students can apply online from this day on. They can choose from 66 undergraduate and graduate study programmes.

The undergraduate courses can be studied in a dual system or independent of a company. In addition, students have the opportunity to spend a semester abroad at one of the approximately 150 partner universities worldwide. The part-time studies, on the other hand, are specially designed to meet the needs of working people and enable the lecture days to be interlinked with the days at the respective company.

New study programmes

In the winter semester, THI will launch the new study field "Health/Life Sciences", which will be successively established as a cross-sectional topic with new courses of study across all faculties. The two German-language bachelor's programmes Bio-Electrical Engineering and Computational Life Sciences will be the first to offer this new field of study:

• The Bio-Electrical Engineering course provides students with skills that enable them to develop innovative electronic devices and their IT applications that serve to improve health and the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
• In the Computational Life Sciences course, students learn, amongst other things, how IT systems are developed and applied in the healthcare and life sciences. Applications for graduates can be found in the medical technology industry, in the healthcare sector or in SMEs and start-ups.

Further new study courses

In addition to the new field of study, four further new courses of study will start at the THI in the winter semester 2020/21:

• In the bachelor's degree course in Robotics, students acquire the specialist knowledge for the conception, construction and use of robots, which they can further develop with the help of artificial intelligence and other modern information technologies.
• The bachelor's programme Autonomous Vehicle Engineering in English qualifies students to develop solutions for highly automated and autonomous driving.
• The bachelor's degree program Global Economics and Business Management, which is conducted in a mixture of English and German, provides students with skills for working in internationally operating companies and organizations.
• The master's degree programme Taxes and Consulting covers the areas of tax law, consulting and consulting-related services and qualifies students for professional fields of tax consulting and auditing.

The application deadline for the Master's applications as well as for the higher semesters of the Bachelor's programmes is July 15, 2020. Due to the postponement of the Abitur examinations, the application deadline for first-year students in the Bachelor's programmes will probably be postponed to August 15, 2020.

Start of lectures in winter semester 2020/21

Lectures for the Bachelor first semester are scheduled to begin in winter semester 2020/21 on Monday, November 2. Higher Bachelor's semesters and all Master's students are expected to start on Thursday, October 1. Further information will follow.
