THI and in particular the Faculty of Computer Science is pleased to welcome Prof. Dr. Holger Märtens as new Professor of Software Engineering and Project Management since the beginning of the month.
With a professorship at the Leibniz University of Applied Sciences and Arts Hannover from 2017 to 2023 and a focus on business informatics, especially project management and software engineering, Prof. Märtens has already proven his commitment to teaching and research.
Prior to this academic activity, Prof. Märtens gained valuable practical experience as Senior Consultant, Executive Consultant and Head of Material Flow Management at T-Systems on site services GmbH in Wolfsburg.
Prof. Märtens received his doctorate in computer science from the University of Leipzig in 2008. He gained experience in teaching as a lecturer for special tasks at the Braunschweig/Wolfenbüttel University of Applied Sciences, now Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences. His path into the academic world began with his studies in computer science, which he untertook from 1990 to 1996 at the University of Passau and the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg.
With his extensive experience in industry and academia, Prof. Holger Märtens will undoubtedly be an asset to THI and its students. His expertise will contribute to the further development of various study programs in the field of software engineering and project management and offer students a practical education.
