Four new professors at Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt

In the summer semester 2020 four new professors have started at the Ingolstadt University of Technology (THI):
Prof. Dr. Christian Pfitzner, Professor for Intelligent Human-Robot Collaboration, is working at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, where he teaches, among other things, in the fields of measurement technology and mobile robotics. Prior to his appointment at THI, he was co-founder and development engineer of a start-up company for mobile robotics and worked in this field as a scientist and lecturer at the Technical University Nuremberg Georg Simon Ohm, where he also studied. Prof. Pfitzner completed his doctorate at the University of Würzburg.
Prof. Veronika Ritzer, Professor for Interaction Design at the Faculty of Computer Science, teaches in the bachelor and master program User Experience Design. Before her professorship at THI, she held leading positions at BMW AG, IXDS and Orange Labs in Tokyo, among others. Her university teaching has so far taken her to the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich, University of Passau and Keio University Tokyo, among others. She has held design exhibitions in Vienna, Winterthur and Lausanne. Prof. Ritzer studied industrial design at the University of Applied Arts Vienna.
Prof. Dr. Sebastian Apel, Professor for Programming and Software Engineering at the Faculty of Computer Science, teaches in the bachelor's program in Computer Science. Prior to his appointment at the THI, he conducted research in this field at the Friedrich Schiller University of Jena, where he also received his doctorate, on efficient fleet planning for electric vehicles and on possibilities for efficient local energy management in densely populated areas. Prof. Apel gained business experience as a start-up founder in the field of software architecture and as a software developer.
Prof. Dr. Bernhard Rothbucher, Professor for Technical Design and Design Management at the Faculty of Industrial Engineering and Management, teaches theory and practice of design in the Technical Design course. Before joining the THI, he was managing director of a design agency for industry, with which he was awarded the German Design Award and Design Management Europe, among others. He gained experience in the university sector as professor at the University of Applied Sciences Salzburg and the University of Art and Industrial Design Linz. Prof. Rothbucher completed his doctorate at Chiba University in Tokyo.
