Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems
The today's transportation system is higly connected. Various applications ranging from route plannung via advanced mobility services to eCall are increasingly deployed. Recent developments utilize the information exchange among vehicles and the roadside inftrastucture to improve road safety and efficiency. Example appllications include traffic jam warning and traffic light information. Actual research and development enforces a comprehensive cooperation among all traffic participants, which also supports the evolving traffic automation, e.g. by the exchange of sensor data. The research group addresses future use cases for the connectivity of vehicles and the traffic infrastructire including pedestrians and byciclists. Another topic is the reliable communication of future autonomuous drones.
The reseearch group cooperates closely with the research group Car2X and Cyber Physical Systems (Prof. Facchi) and the Fraunhofer Application Connected Mobility and Infrastructure (VMI).
