The auditorium is filled, the smell of candy floss fills the air and the waiting first-year students murmur excitedly to themselves. Today marks the beginning of a new phase in their lives, which brings both opportunities and challenges.
Following the opening of the semester at the Sustainability Campus Neuburg, Professor Schober also addressed the students in Ingolstadt: ‘We want to support you at THI to develop your talents in the best possible way,’ said Schober. ‘From a Bachelor's to a Master's to a doctorate at THI. All paths into industry, SMEs, science, and start-ups are open to you with us.’ With over 140 partner universities worldwide, the university has an excellent network and can offer anyone interested in a semester abroad integrated into their degree program. As a traditional welcome gift, the university handed out Deuter rucksacks in the colors of the six faculties, financed by sponsors. These not only characterize the cityscape of Ingolstadt. ‘I now see our rucksacks all over the world,’ said the THI President. ‘Our Prime Minister even wore one in China.’
Sonja Bedington, Head of the International Office, then provided information about the central services offered by THI. The university chaplaincy and representatives of the student council then introduced themselves. The student associations also presented their wide range of offers and tempted visitors with hot dogs, crêpes, and drinks. In a relaxed atmosphere, the newcomers could exchange ideas with the members and make their first contact.
