The GAIA-X 4 KI project aims to advance automated and connected driving as well as innovative production processes. Data plays a central role in this. Specifically, a data and services ecosystem for training and validating artificial intelligence (AI) applications is to be established. The basis for this is the open IT infrastructure GAIA-X, which is currently being established throughout Europe.
The joint project GAIA-X 4KI, which is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK), has a budget of 18 million euros and will run until 31 May 2024. At the mid-term meeting at the Ingolstadt University of Applied Sciences (THI) on 1 and 2 March 2023, the project partners presented a wide range of use cases for production and autonomous driving to guests including Ernst Stöckl-Pukall from the BMWK and representatives of the project sponsor TÜV Rheinland Group. In particular, the focus was on diverse technical implementations.
The second day of the meeting was characterised by internal workshops and discussions, which set the course for a successful second half of the project. At the end of the day, the participants were given a factory tour of the production facility of the co-coordinator Conti Temic microeletronic GmbH at the Ingolstadt site.
After a short preparation time, the presentations of the individual partners will soon be available to the public in the form of videos. This and further information is available on the GAIA-X 4 KI website.
