Focus:

  • Lithium-ion batteries for e-mobility
  • Onboard impedance determination and system identification
  • Offline cell characterization with DVA, Floatstreams and EIS
  • Print influence on cell performance and aging

Summary:

For the safe and reliable operation of lithium-ion cells within a battery pack, it is particularly important to know their current state (e.g., state-of-health=SOH and state-of-charge=SOC). The ELS research group is investigating the state of cells online and offline, using innovative sensors and various measuring methods such as electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), differential voltage analysis (DVA) and the analysis of floating currents. There is a special focus on the differentiation and quantification of certain aging effects as well as lifetime and event prediction involving learning systems.
