Can you become a professor even if you don't have a doctorate yet? Patrick Weiss answers these and other questions about the Junior Professorship at THI in conversation with presenter Joyce Probst.

The latest THI podcast episode is all about 'Upgrade2Prof'. Since summer 2022, THI has been offering a new career programme called the 'Professional Tenure Track Programme' for early career researchers. The programme makes the path to a professorship more transparent and easier to plan in order to facilitate a smooth transition to a lifetime professorship.

As part of the qualification programme, young academics can either complete a doctorate or gain practical experience outside of academia. Patrick Weiss, junior professor for 'Digital Marketing' at THI, has already worked successfully in business after completing his Master's degree. He is now doing his doctorate on the programme. He shares his experiences with the 'Professional Tenure Track Programme' and his motivations in the current THI podcast episode (also available on the streaming platforms Spotify and Apple Podcasts).
