After an evaluation of the set-up phase in 2020, the SAFIR concept was once again convincing and was awarded the contract for the subsequent intensification phase. The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) will thus fund the partnership for another four years. The total project volume of SAFIR including the funds provided by industry amounts to approx. 13 million euros.
In this context, FH-Impuls would like to specifically promote the commitment of the entire institution and enable a systematic and longer-term expansion of the research area. In this way, the THI, in its function as a driver of innovation, wants to provide important impulses for strengthening Bavaria as a business location and further expand its position as a high-performance cooperation partner for science and industry. To this end, two research clusters have been defined to work on various research projects related to the topic of vehicle safety. The SAFIR research programme is embedded in the CARISSMA research and test centre and benefits from the use of the infrastructure and the expertise of the professors in the respective topics.
