Branch Library Neuburg/Danube
Information / Services / FAQs
The second interim library at the Neuburg campus was launched in the winter semester 2023/24. Until the "final" library is completed in a few years' time, the library rooms will remain in the same location.
The most important information on using the library in Neuburg can be found here:
Printed Books
Looking for books on a specific topic? Use the library catalogue for THI members. Select the option "Library of the Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt, Campus Neuburg". Then you can search. Always make a note of the shelfmark (e.g. 98/ZH 3060 D188) - this is the address to the book.
If you have written down the shelfmark (e.g. 98/ZH 3060 D188), it's easy: there are signs on the shelves in the reading room to show you the way. The "98" (= Neuburg location) always remains the same. The letters and numbers increase in size (alphabetically and numerically).
Once you have found the right book on the shelf, you can borrow it in the ServicePoint room (CN002) at the self-checkout. You will need your student ID to do this. You can also return it at the same place. You do not need your ID to return the book.
As a rule, you can keep books from the Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt for 4 weeks and renew them up to 5 times. If someone has reserved the book, it can no longer be renewed. It is therefore important that you keep an eye on your library account.
In the library catalog you will find the "Login" button at the top right. To log in, you will need your user number (on the back of your student ID under the barcode) and your password (default: DDMM of your date of birth). Under "My details" → "Account summary" you can check your account and make renewals.
You can make a reservation on the desired book in the library catalog. The current borrower can then no longer renew the book. If the book has been returned, you will receive a notification email and the book will be placed on hold for you.
Yes, please use the “book order between Ingolstadt and Neuburg” form.
If the book is not available in Ingolstadt and Neuburg, you can make an interlibrary loan in the library catalog. The ordered book arrives in Ingolstadt - please reply to the notification email and let us know that the book should be sent to Neuburg. The same applies to orders for articles.
Interlibrary loans are available for 10 working days, reservations for 5 working days on the collection shelf in the ServicePoint room (CN002). You can recognize your order by a code (the first 3 letters of your surname and the last 4 digits of your user number, e.g.: "Hub_5433"). Please also borrow these books at the self-checkout.
Media that are not returned on time must be reminded for a fee in accordance with §18 of the General Regulations for the Use of Bavarian State Libraries (ABOB). Costs for the 1st reminder: €7.50.
E-Media
You can also find e-books in the library catalog. Instead of a book symbol, e-books have an @ symbol.
You can access and download e-books directly from the campus network. If you are off campus, you will be asked to log in with your IT ID.
Please note that you only have access to e-books with a red frame and the label "License for THB Ingolstadt".
E-books cannot be ordered via interlibrary loan.
Specialist databases licensed by us can be found under Information Resources. Please always select this entry point to gain full access. You will also be asked to log in from outside with your IT ID.

The THI student ID card is also the library card. For employees, it is the employee ID card. Students of the KU Eichstätt-Ingolstadt can also use their library card at the THI library.
Functionality
With your library card, you can borrow media from the libraries of THI and the KU Eichstätt-Ingolstadt, order interlibrary loans and use multifunctional devices for copying, printing and scanning.
The library card is a chip card with a payment function. You can use it to make cashless payments in all university caterings run by the Studierendenwerk Erlangen-Nürnberg, which also includes the canteen and cafeteria at Ingolstadt University of Applied Sciences.
In the library at the Neuburg campus you will find the "Handelsblatt" in printed form. You have online access to daily newspapers worldwide via the PressReader database. You can also access current and older articles from the Süddeutsche Zeitung via Süddeutsche Zeitung Library Net.
