Studying and internships*

Funding is possible if ...

• you wish to study in one of the 33 participating programme countries,
• you are regularly enrolled at a German university,
• your university and the partner university participate in the Erasmus+ programme (ECHE),
• the home university and the host university have concluded an Erasmus cooperation agreement.

*internships in European institutions or organisations, national diplomatic representations and organisations that manage EU programmes are not eligible for funding.

An Erasmus+ study visit can last between two and twelve months:

• up to twelve months for Bachelor's, Master's and doctoral degree programmes,
• up to 24 months for single-cycle degree programmes (e.g. medicine, state examinations, old Diplom degree programmes) and an additional twelve months for doctoral studies,
• the funding can be split up and utilised several times within a study cycle (e.g. twice for six months).

Erasmus+ also allows a combination of study and internship: students can therefore study at a university and complete an internship in a company or another organisation within the same mobility phase. Each mobility can be supplemented by a virtual phase without a time limit, provided the minimum duration of the physical stay is observed.

No separate application is required for the Erasmus scholarship. Please apply within the regular deadlines for a stay abroad. For internships, you can apply on an ongoing basis via Mobility Online.

After allocation, you will be asked by the IO by e-mail to complete and submit certain documents. 

Before your stay abroad ...

You must submit the following documents or complete the following tasks before your departure:

• Digital Learning Agreement including your signature as well as the signature of the lecturers - if required - and the signature of the faculty coordinator (DLA - must be created in Mobility Online. You should create the DLA as soon as possible, as it must be countersigned by the host university before the start of your semester abroad).
• Grant Agreement (complete, sign and upload to your Mobility Online account, GA - submit original to the IO)
• Participate in the Intercultural Training (IKT) part I and II. IKT is organised by the Language Centre (SZ). The SZ posts the dates in Moodle. You can also register for the individual dates there. The IKTs take place in the semester directly before your stay abroad.
• Language test in the language of instruction (you will receive an email asking you to take this test)

Only when all documents have been submitted and the LA has been signed by the partner university will you receive 70% of the total Erasmus grant. 
 

After your stay abroad ...

The remaining 30% will be disbursed after your return if you have completed the following steps:

• Submit the Letter of Confirmation (=LoC) from the host university (this certificate must be issued at the earliest one week before your departure) - upload in Mobility Online! You can find the form in the download area.
• Enter your personal experience report or evaluation of your stay abroad in move.
• Participate in the IKT part III, which is offered at the beginning of the semester following your stay abroad. If you are on an internship at that time, you are not required to take Block III.
• Repetition of the language test
• Completion of the "Participant Report Form" (you will automatically receive a request from the EU website to submit this online report)

These documents must be submitted to the International Office within four weeks of the end of your stay abroad.

Before your stay abroad ...

• Register in PRIMUSS
• Registrater in the Mobility Online application portal - here you will find the privacy policy for the portal. Now log in to Mobility Onlineto apply for the scholarship and upload the following documents to Mobility Online:

1. Learning Agreement for Traineeships "Before the Mobility" (see also download area)
2. Certificate of enrolment from Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (current semester)
3. Primuss registration of the internship - voluntary or compulsory (screenshot of the data)
4. If applicable, proof of intercultural training (participation in Intercultural Training (IKT) part I and II. IKT is organised by the Language Centre (SZ). The SZ posts the dates in Moodle. You can also register for the individual dates there. The IKTs take place every semester. Alternatively, you can volunteer as a buddy for international students at THI before or after your stay. 5. Submit the Grant Agreement for Traineeships with original signature to the International Office or at the Service Point or by post.
6. Submit the language certificate (after applying, you will receive a separate email with the link to the EU online language tool)

Subsequent applications (after the start of the period abroad) are not permitted!!!

After your stay abroad ...

Further documents must be uploaded to Mobility Online or submitted separately for payment of the second instalment (30%). Please note the automatic e-mail you will receive.
