His course "Management of Technologies and Innovations" has reached first place in the category "Outstanding Supervision": With this award, the Virtual University of Bavaria (vhb) honors Prof. Dr. Peter Augsdörfer, Professor for Teaching, Management Strategy, Technology and Innovation Management at THI Business School. The students of the vhb had been able to cast a vote, which was subsequently confirmed by a jury. The award is endowed with 2,500 euros.
Augsdörfer has been teaching the seminar since 2004, and over the years he has adapted the course didactically and technically to the technology available. In the beginning, the course took place in a kind of messenger chat room. In the meantime, he gives a webinar once a week in which he can interactively involve the students. The course is not a filmed lecture, but tailored to a virtual teaching format, with "gamification" as the framework format. "With this, students don't get bored when they're in my lecture," Augsdörfer says with a smile.
He was awarded the prize at a virtual ceremony to mark the 20th anniversary of the vhb.
