Colorful instead of gray - students redesign an elementary school playground

A colorful playground with exercise games instead of a dull concrete jungle - that's what four students of the Bachelor of Business Administration of THI Business School have realized for the children of the elementary school Am Graben in Eichstätt. The aim of the project was to motivate the children to get more exercise in the fresh air. At the same time, the various games were intended to strengthen the children's sense of togetherness among themselves and encourage their creativity. The students had previously coordinated the concept for the redesign of the playground with the school administration and the parents' council.

"We wanted to show that it is also possible to please children with little effort," explains Sonja Bittl, who carried out the project together with her fellow students Ida-Maria Bürkl, Franziska Sacha and Yannick Both. The four have had their commitment credited as a social project for their studies. Such social projects are mandatory in all bachelor's degree programs at THI Business School.
