Experience the supply chains of stationary food retailing - this was the motto of a recent visit to the highly automated distribution center of Edeka Südbayern in Landsberg by students on the Global Economics and Business Management (GBM) Bachelor's degree program at THI Business School. They were joined by fellow students from the KU Eichstätt-Ingolstadt, the University of Augsburg, LogIN e.V. and their Supply Chain Management lecturers Moritz Hundhammer and Prof. Dr. Michael Sternbeck.
There was a lot on offer at the distribution center. The participants were able to find out all about modern warehouse technology, efficient logistics processes and innovative solutions on site. A particular highlight of the event was the detailed tour of the ultra-modern warehouse. The students were able to experience the various warehouse areas and the impressive automated systems in action. An interesting presentation by Dr. Markus Frank, who completed his doctorate in Ingolstadt, rounded off the eventful day.
Practical learning - directly in cooperation with companies and experts from the business world, that is one of the core areas of teaching at the THI Business School
