At the moment, no one knows whether the event “Hallertauer Hopfakranzlfest” can take place this year in September or whether it will have to be postponed until 2022 due to the pandemic. But regardless of whether in 2021 or 2022 – it will be organized by Kristina Funke and Julia Holzner, two students in the Marketing / Sales / Media master's degree program at THI Business School. For their study project, the two are working closely with the trade association of the town of Rottenburg an der Laaber, which hosts the festival for the first time. At THI Business School, they are supervised by Prof. Dr. Bernd Scheed, Professor of International Management and Marketing and Dean of the Faculty.
From finding suitable event spaces to designing the program to necessary safety precautions and risk management - Funke and Holzner will handle all the planning. "The difficulty is that there are many uncertainties due to the pandemic that we have to take into account," the two students report. "This complicates our project considerably." All planning must be completed by the end of June so that it can then be handed over to the project partners at the city.
Practice-oriented projects like this one are firmly integrated into the curricula of all degree programs at THI Business School. Despite the current pandemic, these projects will continue unchanged.
