At the beginning of June 2019, the Institute for Applied Sustainability (inas) was officially recognised as an affiliated institute of THI and the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt. The aim of the institute is to promote research and teaching on sustainable development in Region 10 and arouse interest in models of sustainable living. inas was founded in 2017 at the initiative of THI Honorary Professor Reinhard Büchl. An affiliated institute is legally and organisationally independent but collaborates closely with the scientific institutions with which it is associated.
