For Geisenfeld secondary school, the teachers' visit to the university was the direct introduction to concrete cooperation and participation in the ‘Mensch in Bewegung’ transfer project. In addition to the cooperation contact Peter Beischl, a teacher of physics and maths, and other interdisciplinary teachers came to the THI. Beischl was the initiator of the cooperation and is a consultant for digital education at the MB service center for secondary schools in Upper Bavaria West. The teachers were given an insight into the AININ research institute and were welcomed by Managing Director Dr Christian Lösel. Professor Munir Georges introduced them to the field of research and the ‘Mensch in Bewegung’ project. They then worked in groups to discuss how the university can bring learning and teaching with and about AI into schools. As a team, the teachers defined their needs, requirements, and expectations. The next step will be a visit by the pupils to the university.
THI's partner school network ranges from grammar schools to FOS/BOSen and secondary schools. The network extends far beyond the region and includes schools from Weißenburg to Dachau. These schools can rely on intensive support from the THI and the THI's partner network of institutes and companies in all subjects as well as in their choice of studies and careers. Universities have a special responsibility for the transfer to society and schools are important co-operation partners in this. These include not only grammar schools and technical and vocational colleges but also secondary schools, regardless of the level of education they are aiming for, more and more of which are now proactively seeking contact with THI.
